3 months on the road and we've eventually made it to CAIRNS

Couldn't have made a better choice for our accommodation in Cairns, our site is perfect and Lake Placid is right across the road from us.
With so much to see & do in this area we called into an "Animal Refuge" today to enquire about their Dog Sitting services.  It was perfect for what we need & Scruffie had his 1st day in Doggy Day Care in Cairns

The Animal Refuge Shelter is privately run with the help of paid/volunteer workers with a subsidised income derived from "Doggy Day Care" and is only a 5min drive from Lake Placid
With our day free we headed off for Trinity Beach, we are eventually seeing some beautiful tropical beaches and even better.....they are dog friendly !!!!!!!    The next spot we visited was Palm Cove and I was very impressed with the beachfront area.  It really had a great holiday atmosphere

From Palm Cove we took the Captain Cook Highway up to Port Douglas....  what a scenic drive

PORT DOUGLAS oozeswith Tropical Paradise Holiday atmosphere & for anyone needing a Retail fix.... it's all there in one street

THE iconic and historic Courthouse Hotel at Port Douglas has been sold to a Sydney-based hotel group for more than $12 million

This trip has given us an insight of what is on offer up around this area and we'll be heading back to Port for another day's outing as well as soaking up many an hour at the Northern Beaches of Cairns

After lunch it was time to head back to the Refuge & collect our Scruff  - we then detoured to Yorkeys Knob & now have plenty of choices of beaches that we can go to with Scruffie Dog
